A strike force with a Y and a Z in their surname?

Where's Montieth? Right up his passage is that.

Can't wait until LANZINI is back alongside Payet. Fucking hell, what a couple of players to have alongside each other.

We've proved we are not a one team man though, when Payet has been out others have stepped up. Not quite in the same class granted, but with the likes of Lanzini, Antonio, Sakho etc in the team it's not all about one player.

It's not really about praise and jealousy, I meant more the 'one man team', 'stop him and stop West Ham' thing. I know it's a bit of a 70's or 80's mentality but I still imagine managers do tell players to give certain opposition a bit of the rough stuff if they think it's going to help win them a game.

I just can't help but think the more everyone builds him up, he becomes a little bit of a marked man.

Probably just me being paranoid though.

Those posters/fans just can't let go of the past, even if it IS a shit past.

It's the only one they know and is a massive (MASSIVE) comfort-blanket for them.

I'm really not sure if professional football players are all that bothered about their fellow professionals getting lots of praise, would seem a rather jealous and petty thing to do, wouldn't it? Generally footballers tend to look after their own. if players have arguments on the pitch and fall out, then that;s a different thing, and yes sometimes certain stupid players get the hump if they've been made to look silly and try to exact some revenge of course.

You don't like Payet playing out his skin every week?! You're off your nut.

Some football fans don't know anything outside the premiership, even on here too. There's some people that if they were in charge we'd still have Allardyce, Nolan as Captain and renewed Cole's deal.

Well obviously it's not just newspaper stories, but I personally feel the more and more he's built up it will make a player want to 'put him in his place'. Especially in the heat of the moment if Payet's done him with a bit of skill. A manager is going to say to all his players before a game 'stop payet and you'll stop west ham'.

Usually the skill players are skilled enough to avoid most of that shit, but we've already witnessed one horrible challenge on him this season which could have been much worse.

the only way he won't get attention is if he plays shit. good players will always get noticed, and if he does attract a big bid then we will have to consider it I guess. you also have to think that he will be 29 in a couple of months. I'm not sure but I think his age might put some clubs off as there will be little resale value.

I don't like all this attention Payet is getting.

Some team like Chelsea, RM, Barc etc could come along in the summer and upset him with a massive bid

Re: West Ham paying £10.7m for Dimitri Payet is the signing of the season
Yes, he's brilliant. Yes, he's probably one of the best players I've ever seen play for West Ham.

However this article wrongly asserts that we are a one man team without mentioning that during the 7 game run without Payet we also had a number of other key players missing at various times in that same period. Not least Lanzini, Valencia, Song, Carroll, & Reid.

You have to laugh, Payet and Kante for me along with De Bruyne

From a Man Utd fan after Bilic's appointment. Oh, sweet delicious irony.

"West Ham are insane if they think it's a good idea to replace Allardyce with Billic. Even though they'll give him money to spend there is so little chance he'll be able to do a better job than Big Sam. It's as if they are trying to go backwards. Allardyce is the limiting factor at West Ham, the club itself is. They aren't suddenly going to start attracting top class players."

I love watching him play. Enjoying the moment - had his song stuck in my head since the Bournemouth game. You can see the others love having in on the pitch. He breeds confidence.

Hard to think of another player thats had such a quick impression on the supporters. Why should we be weary of what might be. This has been a superb season so far.

Also Siri knows...

I dreamt last night that payet scores the only goal in a 1-0 win at Newcastle, so lump on.
